Press Release:
Phoenix Venture Partners (PVP), a venture capital fund management company based in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), announced its leadership in the second closing of Nabta Health's ongoing $3 million Pre-Series A funding round.
The PVP investment includes a mix of primary and secondary funding, reinforcing the existing investment relationship between the two companies as Nabta Health enters a new phase of growth.
The funding round attracted participation from institutional investors, venture capital firms, family offices, and high-net-worth investors.
Nabta Health was founded in 2017 by Sophie Smith and started as a women's healthcare platform targeting consumers directly. After years of investment in technology, medical infrastructure, and research and development, the company is now moving towards developing AI-powered preventive healthcare infrastructure targeting employers, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
The Nabta Health platform combines early disease detection, guiding patients through their treatment journey using the AI-powered Aya tool, and providing healthcare through a model that integrates digital services and direct clinical care.
This model aims to connect patients with healthcare funding entities and medical service providers, enabling early intervention and improving care coordination and health outcomes, while helping employers and insurance companies manage long-term healthcare costs through prevention and improved beneficiary health management.
Nabta Health clinics and their expertise in women's health continue to play a crucial role in supporting this broader ecosystem.
The investment marks a new phase in the relationship between PVP and Nabta Health. As part of this move, Dr. Mosaed Al-Razouqi, co-founder and non-executive board member at PVP, will leave the board of Nabta Health after supporting the company since its early stages as one of its founding investors and previously serving as its executive chairman.
Steve Khayat will join the board of Nabta Health representing PVP at a time when the company transitions from a long phase of product development and research to a phase more focused on commercial expansion and growth.
Steve Khayat, founder and CEO of Phoenix Venture Partners, stated:
< Nabta Health has accomplished the hardest work in building its technologies, medical infrastructure, and business model, and is already achieving strong commercial results. We believe the company has reached a pivotal stage where it can decisively shift its focus towards market entry and accelerate sales. >
He added: < Our role at PVP will be to work alongside Sophie and her team to enhance strategic partnerships, accelerate customer acquisition, and help translate this commercial progress into scalable growth. >
For her part, Sophie Smith, founder and CEO of Nabta Health, said:
< We are excited to welcome PVP as shareholders of the company and for Steve to join our board at this important stage of Nabta Health's journey. PVP's contribution is not limited to capital but also includes its regional relationships and operational support, which will help us accelerate the next phase of our commercial growth and deepen our partnerships with employers, insurance companies, and healthcare providers. >
Nabta Health will use the funding to accelerate its market entry strategy, expand its solutions targeted at businesses and institutions, and build new business relationships with employers, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
PVP will work alongside the management team of Nabta Health to support the next phase of the company's growth, leveraging its regional network and expertise in company development to accelerate commercial partnerships and prepare the company for a new phase of institutional growth.
