JPMorgan Invests $5 Billion in U.S. National Security Companies
JPMorgan Chase has invested $5 billion in the equity of companies in sectors critical to the economic and national security of the United States. The bank aims to capitalize on the growing demand for domestic manufacturing, energy infrastructure, and supply chain resilience. Since launching the Security and Resiliency Initiative a year ago, the bank has provided approximately $230 billion in funding and committed to financing $1.5 trillion in investments in the U.S. over the next decade, including national security projects. The investments support companies in advanced manufacturing, energy, supply chains, and defense technologies. The investments include startups and businesses at growth and maturity stages, particularly in defense developments, distributed energy storage systems, and automated manufacturing. The large-scale investments come amid rising demand for data centers for artificial intelligence systems and modernization of energy infrastructure. JPMorgan Chase will focus on expanding industrial capacities and supporting sectors that shape the long-term resilience of the country. Other banks are also implementing similar programs, including Bank of America, which plans to invest $250 billion by July 2027.
