Genius Yield Gradually Ceases Operations, Launches Genius Zero App
The Cardano ecosystem DeFi protocol Genius Yield is gradually ceasing operations. Co-founder Lars Brünjes announced the launch of the open-source browser application Genius Zero, which allows users to bypass the Genius Yield backend and directly use smart contracts to unstake, cancel DEX orders, and claim rewards. The application is licensed under the MIT License and relies on Blockfrost for querying on-chain data. Claiming rewards still requires a co-signing service run by Brünjes personally, while unstaking the principal does not depend on this service. The fees from the original DEX order book still flow to an address controlled by Genius Yield, and changing the fee rate requires the signatures of three out of the four original founders, which has not yet been authorized.
