DWF Labs: Tokenization Drives Change in Financial Markets
DWF Labs evaluated in its TOKEN2049 Singapore 2026 report that traditional financial institutions are expanding their market participation and that blockchain is establishing itself as a core infrastructure of the financial system. The tokenization of real assets and AI-based payments are emerging as key growth drivers, with approximately 25,000 attendees and over 250 speakers participating in the event. Tokenization is evolving beyond the stage of transferring existing assets to blockchain, moving towards direct issuance on-chain, particularly expected to provide new trading opportunities in real estate and shares of unlisted companies. Institutional investors are expanding their approach to digital assets as long-term investments, focusing on investments through ETFs and strengthening internal digital asset management capabilities. However, the introduction of DeFi still faces security incidents and counterparty risks. The combination of AI and digital assets is also a major topic, with expectations that demand for blockchain-based payments will increase in an environment where AI directly conducts financial transactions. The growth potential of stablecoins and digital asset-based neobanks is also emphasized, while regulatory and security issues remain identified as challenges to be addressed. At the event, Dan Tapiero projected that Bitcoin will reach $250,000 next year.
